SNAP mobilizes relief operations for communities affected by Uwan

In the aftermath of Typhoon Uwan, SN Aboitiz Power Group (SNAP) immediately launched extensive relief operations to support its host and neighboring communities affected by the typhoon.

Working closely with local government units (LGU) and community partners, SNAP has provided Php1.8 million worth of relief assistance from its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Fund to support around 2,494 families in its host and neighboring communities.

“SNAP stands with our communities during challenging times,”said Joseph Yu, SNAP President and CEO.  “As a company that works closely with our host communities, we extend support where it is needed most, especially for those affected by Typhoon Uwan.”

From November 11 to 14, SNAP-Magat, in coordination with LGUs, immediately mobilized to deliver aid to the most affected communities.  A total of 1,664 relief packs were distributed across SNAP’s host and neighboring communities in Isabela, Benguet, Nueva Vizcaya, Ifugao, and Cagayan. Each relief pack contains water, rice, canned goods, powdered milk, biscuits, instant noodles, laundry items, and hygiene kits.

SNAP’s relief assistance also reached the municipalities of Ramon in Isabela; Alfonso Lista, Aguinaldo and Mayoyao in Ifugao; and Diadi in Nueva Vizcaya. Further assistance for Magat fisherfolk communities is underway.

At the same time, SNAP-Benguet distributed relief packs to Barangay Tinongdan in Itogon and the municipality of Bokod and Barangays Ambuklao and Tikey. The PLGU of Benguet also received 800 blankets to help provide warmth and comfort to affected families. Additionally, MLGU Bokod received 200 galvanized iron sheets and 30 rolls of water hose to help repair damaged homes and agricultural equipment.
