The Manuel V. Pangilinan-led Manila Electric Company (Meralco) has energized the new Bustos Substation in Bulacan to support the province’s growing power demand.
The project involved the installation of a new 50-megavolt ampere (MVA) power transformer bank, three 69-kilovolt (kV) gas circuit breakers, six 69-kV disconnect switches, the construction of a 69-kV sub-transmission line, and a control house equipped with a 13.8-kV indoor modular switchgear.
The new substation provides additional system capacity and enhances service reliability for customers in the City of Baliwag and the municipalities of Bustos, Angat, and San Rafael, benefitting key institutions and business establishments including Baliwag District Hospital, Bulacan State University, Bustos Municipal Hall, National University Baliwag, WalterMart Baliwag, and SM City Baliwag.
This forms part of Meralco’s continuing investments to modernize and expand its distribution network in support of economic development and the growing electricity requirements of the communities it serves.
