The Manila Electric Company (Meralco) has started the Competitive Selection Process (CSP) for 900 megawatts (MW) of baseload power supply.
This follows the Department of Energy’s (DOE) issuance of a Certificate of Conformity on the Terms of Reference (TOR) for the Power Supply Agreements (PSAs) covering the power distributor’s 900-MW baseload requirement by 2031.
Through its Bids and Awards Committee (BAC) for PSAs, Meralco called on power generation companies to submit Expressions of Interest by October 15, 2026.
The Pre-Bid Conference is scheduled for November 6, while the Bid Submission Deadline is set on December 9.
The 15-year PSA resulting from this CSP will cover the delivery of 600-MW supply by February 26, 2031, and an additional 300 MW by February 26, 2032 — subject to the approval of the Energy Regulatory Commission.
Through the CSP, Meralco continues to secure sufficient and reliable power supply to meet the growing electricity needs of its customers.
