Puerto Princesa’s Growing Investment Landscape Takes Center Stageat 2026 Investment Forum

Puerto Princesa City will showcase its fast-growing economy and expanding investment opportunities at the 2026 Investment Forum on October 23, 2026, at Conrad Manila. The half-day event is expected to bring together approximately 150 investors, business leaders, policymakers, and development partners, as new real estate, tourism, and infrastructure initiatives underscore growing investor interest in the city.

Now in its third edition under the leadership of Mayor Lucilo R. Bayron, the forum builds on the City Government’s efforts to strengthen business partnerships and attract investments that generate jobs and lasting benefits for local communities. Guided by the tagline “Your Investment. Our Commitment.” adopted in 2019, the City continues to promote sustainable economic development and responsible investor participation in its growth.

Recognized as a key economic driver of Region IV-B (MIMAROPA), Puerto Princesa offers regional connectivity, distinctive natural and economic resources, a skilled workforce, and a supportive business environment.

The forum will highlight investor-ready opportunities in Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions (MICE) tourism, fisheries and seafood value-chain development, and the tourism mile economy. Other opportunities span renewable energy; modern agriculture; commercial, mixed-use, and hospitality developments; ecotourism, cruise, sports, and culinary tourism; infrastructure and utilities; resource recovery and waste management; and climate-resilient urban development.

Recent private-sector developments reflect this momentum. Megaworld is developing Baytown Palawan, a six-hectare mixed-use lifestyle township along Puerto Princesa South Road. Envisioned along the lines of Bonifacio Global City, the project is planned to feature smart condominiums, commercial hubs, and hotels. Suntrust Properties, part of the Megaworld Group, is also expanding residential and community developments in the city.

Another major initiative is the Sta. Lucia Environmental Estate, an ecotourism and environmental development spanning approximately 500 hectares, with stated investment potential of up to ₱200 billion. The estate has been designated a Tourism Enterprise Zone by the Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority (TIEZA).

In hospitality, boutique operator One-Of Collection has expanded its Puerto Princesa presence through its Amorita Resort and Spa and The Funny Lion properties, further reflecting developer interest in the city’s tourism sector.

Beyond showcasing projects, the forum is intended to connect Puerto Princesa City’s development priorities with private capital, technology, and expertise. It will provide a venue for the City Government and prospective investors to explore partnerships and translate investment interest into concrete initiatives.
