SNAP joins the fight against plastic pollution on World Envi Day

In celebration of World Environment Day 2025, renewable energy solutions provider SN Aboitiz Power Group (SNAP) reaffirmed its role in environmental stewardship through collaborative clean-up and planting activities across its host communities.

On June 5, 2025, around 30 employees and volunteers of SNAP-Magat in Ramon, Isabela marked the occasion with a vegetable planting activity at the plant’s Gabion area, promoting food sustainability and green spaces within the Magat HEPP facility.

Simultaneously, SNAP-Benguet conducted clean-up drive activities at the Ambuklao and Binga hydroelectric power plants (HEPP) in the municipalities of Bokod and Itogon, Benguet. The activities brought together 76 volunteers composed of SNAP employees, contractors, local workers and residents, barangay officials, members of the 54th Infantry Brigade Philippine Army, and representatives from the Tinongdan Indigenous Peoples Organization (TINPO).

The clean-up drives in Ambuklao and Binga HEPPs collected and segregated a total of 31 sacks—approximately 222 kilograms of plastic waste, highlighting the power of community collaboration and the shared responsibility of maintaining a clean and sustainable environment. Collected waste was turned over to designated Material Recovery Facility for proper disposal and recycling.

Celebrated annually on June 5, World Environment Day serves as a global call to action to protect the environment. This year’s theme, “Beat Plastic Pollution,” emphasizes the urgent need for collective efforts to address the growing issue of plastic waste.

Activities like these reflect SNAP’s mission to energize a sustainable future—initiatives that strengthen environmental awareness and action in the areas where it operates.
