BUSINESS TYCOON AND CO-FOUNDER OF NAMFEL JOSE “JOECON” CONCEPCION, JR. DIES AT 92.

  • His passion extended beyond business. He became a civic leader with a strong commitment to social causes.
  • His unwavering dedication to clean elections led him to become the Co-Founder and chairman of the National Citizens Movement for Free Elections (NAMFREL). NAMFREL is an organization that advocates for transparent and fair electoral processes in the Philippines.
  • Through NAMFREL, he worked tirelessly to promote democratic values and ensure free and credible elections.

In his later years, he faced health challenges, including diabetes and high blood pressure.  Seeking innovative solutions, he explored stem-cell therapy.  He underwent this treatment, which he learned about from a German doctor named Christoph Ganss.   Dr. Ganss is the founder of Ticeba (Tissue & Cell Banking), a stem cell tissue bank based in Heidelberg, Germany.   He’s stem-cell therapy aimed not only at addressing his health conditions but also at preventing dementia.  His personal experience with stem-cell therapy transformed him into a vocal advocate, emphasizing its benefits and effectiveness.

Joecon’s legacy extends beyond business and advocacy. He founded Go Negosyo, a nonprofit organization that encourages entrepreneurship to address poverty in the Philippines.  His contributions were recognized globally when he received the Padma Shri award, India’s highest civilian honor, for his work in trade and industry.

Details of Joecon’s wake:  Public viewing will start on March 7 (Thursday) to March 10 (Sunday), from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Heritage Memorial Park in Taguig City, Chapel 4 & 5.

A Requiem Mass will be offered on March 11 (Monday) at 1:30 p.m. at The Santuario de San Antonio Parish Church Forbes Park, Makati City.
