In today’s rapidly changing world, the role of the youth is important in addressing and finding solutions to global issues, influencing our future. The 9th De La Salle – Model United Nations, which took place on July 28-30, 2023, at Henry Sy Sr. Hall was more than just a conference; it served as a platform for young and aspiring leaders to showcase diplomatic abilities, propose solutions to global concerns, and engage in crucial discussions.
It is a conference based at De La Salle University, a flagship event of the DLSMUN Central Committee and the De La Salle – Model United Nations Community (MUNCOM). It is the country’s biggest and most esteemed event of its kind, with many partnerships from various nations. With the theme “Transcending Borders: Promoting International Cooperation for Global Peace,” this year’s event resonated with the idea of collaboration and unity. This theme captured the essence of AHEAD’s commitment to empowering youth and fostering excellence.
DLSMUN conducted meetings held by various committees within the United Nations (UN). The Dais, delegates of DLSMUN, led the event and will continue to pave the way for an even larger and more ambitious conference. They will guide the delegates in promoting diplomacy and international cooperation to achieve sustainable solutions. It aimed to provide us with vital diplomatic skills and values, especially in the face of significant global crises. AHEAD’s support amplified these efforts, allowing us to broaden our perspectives, think critically, and engage in meaningful debates about the world’s social issues.
