For millions of Filipinos, reliable connectivity has become part of everyday life. What was once centered on traditional calls and text messages has evolved into an always-on connectivity that empowers a modern digital lifestyle across the Philippines.
From working and learning to running businesses, accessing financial services, enjoying entertainment and using AI-powered applications, internet connectivity is no longer a luxury, but rather a constant need to keep people connected. As digital adoption grows, connectivity is increasingly taking its place alongside water, electricity, gas and transportation as the fifth utility.
This shift in consumer behavior was reflected in Globe’s first-half 2026 results. Higher demand for video streaming, social media, gaming, e-commerce, digital payments, productivity tools and AI-powered applications led to the continued growth in mobile data consumption, with average monthly data usage reaching approximately 17 GB per subscriber, up from 15 GB last year. More than 39.6 million Globe users are now actively using mobile data, showing how connectivity is becoming more essential to daily life.
Digital services are becoming a larger part of Globe’s overall revenue mix. In the first half of 2026 data-driven revenues accounted for 91% of the company’s consolidated gross service revenues, which illustrates how connectivity has become the primary way for customers to communicate, transact, consume information and access digital services. With online behaviors and lifestyles evolving, Globe is committed to delivering capacity, stability and quality that customers increasingly seek from an essential utility.
“The way Filipinos use connectivity tells us we are progressively becoming a digital nation. We are grateful that more customers are choosing Globe to be part of their everyday lives. We will build on this trust by continuously improving our network and delivering experiences that customers can rely on.” said Carl Cruz, President and CEO of Globe Telecom.
During the first half, Globe invested ₱26.3 billion in capital expenditures to expand digital infrastructure for millions of Filipinos. As connectivity becomes even more vital to how the country lives, works and grows, Globe remains committed to building the resilient networks that will power the Philippines’ digital future.
