Globe is helping bring life-saving healthcare closer to underserved Filipinos through its partnership with the PGH Medical Foundation, Inc. (PGH MFI).

For many Filipinos nationwide, the Philippine General Hospital (PGH) serves as a last line of hope, especially for patients who rely entirely on subsidized or charity care. Every year, the hospital supports an estimated of over 600k patients, including pediatric patients in charity wards, newborns, neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) cases, and emergency room patients requiring urgent medical attention. These patients often travel long distances to seek treatment they otherwise could not afford.

Last May, Globe Prepaid turned over Globe AT HOME 5G WiFi loop devices with one year of load and cash donation to PGH Medical Foundation, Inc. as part of its connectivity support commitment through GoGIVE, a platform available on the GlobeOne app. The donation was made possible after the advocacy reached its target number of hearts from Globe Prepaid customers who opted to support PGH Medical Foundation, Inc.

On top of the support from GoGIVE, Globe customers also raised approximately Php 630K from their Globe Rewards points in 2025 to support the provision of essential medical technologies that improved the hospital’s ability to respond to patients quickly and effectively. These included dual phototherapy systems for newborn jaundice treatment, portable ultrasound devices for bedside diagnostics, and compact ultrasound systems that support imaging across multiple medical specialties. For patients and their families, access to these technologies can mean earlier diagnosis, faster medical intervention, and better chances of recovery.
The partnership goes beyond providing medical equipment. It also helps empower healthcare frontliners who continue to serve despite limited resources and growing demand, allowing doctors and medical teams to make more timely clinical decisions.
“Technology becomes more meaningful when it helps improve lives in tangible and human ways. Through our partnership with the PGH Medical Foundation, we hope to help strengthen healthcare access for underserved Filipinos while supporting the medical frontliners who dedicate their lives to caring for others,” said Yoly Crisanto, Globe’s Chief Sustainability and Corporate Communications Officer.
For PGH, partnerships like these help address critical resource gaps that directly affect patient care and survival outcomes, while strengthening the hospital’s capacity to serve vulnerable communities
“For many of our patients, access to timely diagnosis and treatment can mean the difference between life and death. Support from partners like Globe helps us strengthen our ability to care for vulnerable patients, especially newborns, children, and families who rely on PGH for critical medical services,” said Victor Zoleta, Executive Director of PGH Medical Foundation, Inc.
The initiative reflects Globe’s broader commitment to leveraging technology and partnerships to address real societal needs, reinforcing its role as a purpose-driven company expanding access to essential services.
Globe’s collaboration with the PGH Medical Foundation Inc. began a decade ago with the #CreateCourage campaign in 2016 for the rehabilitation of the PGH Pediatric Cancer Clinic.
