Unlike conventional CT scans that rely on Energy Integrating Detectors (EID) and a two-step conversion process, the Photon-Counting CT directly detects each X-ray photon and its energy level. This eliminates data loss and image “noise,” resulting in sharper, more precise scans.
The Naeotom Alpha.Peak delivers resolution as fine as 0.2mm—and up to 0.11mm for ultra-high-resolution imaging. This enables radiologists to detect minute lung nodules, delicate ear structures, or subtle fractures that traditional scanners might miss. For cardiac patients, the system can remove obstructions caused by calcium or metal stents, providing clear views inside vessel lumens—often eliminating the need for invasive procedures.
