PHINMA Hospitality breaks ground on TRYP by Wyndham Bacolod in Saludad

Reflecting PHINMA’s strong support for Bacolod City’s economic growth and tourism development, PHINMA Hospitality has broken ground on TRYP by Wyndham Bacolod last March 4 in the Saludad township of PHINMA Properties.

The new hotel is both the flagship hospitality partner of Saludad and PHINMA Hospitality’s third TRYP establishment in the country, making it a significant milestone for the PHINMA Group. Present during the ceremony were executives of PHINMA Corp., PHINMA Hospitality, and JEPP Property Corp., the joint venture partner of PHINMA Hospitality for TRYP Bacolod. Bacolod City Mayor Greg Gasataya also joined the event.

TRYP’s entry into Bacolod introduces a lifestyle hotel experience for Bacolodnons that blends global standards with the distinctive culture, energy, and creative spirit of the City of Smiles. Drawing from the identity of its hotels’ locations, TRYP Bacolod will also showcase PHINMA Hospitality’s commitment to providing tailor-fit stays customized to guests’ needs – creating local job opportunities and supporting regional development in the process.

“The goal is not just to build another hotel in Bacolod, but to build a hotel that feels unmistakably Bacolod. Bacolod is a city with strong identity and forward momentum, and TRYP was designed to reflect both,” said PHINMA Hospitality Chairman and CEO Jose Mari del Rosario. As such, the new TRYP hotel reflects the MassKara Festival and the region’s celebrated culinary traditions and sugar industry roots—fixtures in Bacolod’s strong sense of identity that are joyful and deeply rooted in its history.

TRYP Bacolod’s signature features include the deep violet tones, texture of the tubo, headboards and terrazzo tiles reflecting the Masskara Festival’s vibrancy, and lighting fixtures reminiscent of pulled caramelized sugar cane.

“Saludad gathers the best of PHINMA in one township, particularly for Bacolodnons. Our new TRYP hotel’s groundbreaking not only significantly elevates Saludad’s profile, but places us in a better position to serve the wider community and champion what makes Saludad distinctly Bacolod,” said PHINMA Properties President and CEO Raphael B. Felix.

Aside from TRYP, Saludad shall also feature PHINMA Education’s first-ever Southwestern University PHINMA campus outside Cebu City, and PHINMA Properties’ own developments Maayo Terraces and Likha Residences.

“Bacolod is a city of increasing importance to PHINMA due to its strong growth prospects and its overall role in driving regional progress in Negros. This is reflected in the meaningful investments that PHINMA has made, starting with our Saludad township and reinforced by the entrance of a TRYP by Wyndham hotel and a branch of Southwestern University. Through these initiatives, augmented further by one of our initial community housing projects, PHINMA is positioned to support Bacolod’s development and to provide residents and communities with more opportunities for better lives,” said PHINMA Corp. Chairman and CEO Ramon R. del Rosario, Jr.
